Here’s a card I made for the embellish stripes challenge. Made the velour flower out of some velour scraps I had from hemming my daughters velour pants. Isn’t that resourceful? I should buy myself a new stamp set for the money I’m gonna save on flower embellishments using scraps from pants! Who knew having short legs could pay off?
Here’s the card I made based off of the kitchen sink sketch challenge. Don’t know why it’s sooo hard for me to submit to a sketch. I didn’t think I was a rebellious person, but everytime I try to do a sketch challenge, I have this tremendous urge to break the rules! What is that all about? Not gonna try to figure it out. Needed a quick get well card for a friend today. I used my faux ribbon set from papertrey to make the pattern on the bottom and some watercolor pencils to color in the owl. Just a quick, quirky cheer-up card.
Yes, I’m still alive after all the holidays and birthdays. December completey wiped my craftiness out!! I’m still putting decorations and clutter away, but I had to make a baby card, so this was a perfect chance to get back into Dawn’s challenges. Using so many of my “new” PTI buttons out of my “new” vintage button jar on one single card nearly made me pass out, but I think it was worth it in the end. Great challenge “kitchen sink girls”! I big “muchas gracias” to Mariana who gave me this blog award!!! I was at the hospital for a few days with my five year old daughter who had a severe asthma attack after being at a bonfire. So this blog award was a really pick-me-up!! Bailey is back to her normal, bubbly, happy and loud, and hungry self. The school nurse checks her daily to see if she has any wheezing. Needed a couple of birthday cards this week. The first one was for a friend and the next one was for my grandpa. I know that deep, deep, waaaaay deep down inside my grandpa really appreciated the thought (the ridiculous amount of thought) that went into this birthday card:)
And now for the more important matters. The baby kittens are finally starting to cuddle without crying for their mommy. The girls have held them constantly all morning with fuzzy blankets, and they’ve cuddled soooo nicely. Mommy doesn’t even know they’re missing. The girls are just giddy:) Hope you have a great weekend!
Don’t know where in the WORLD this week has gone!!! Kinda in a card funk. Not liking anything I make, ya know what I mean?? BUT, I have been working on this french knot technique that Maile showed on her blog. Even though I’m not totally in love with this card, I’m kinda diggin’ the french knots.
Here’s a little update on the kitties. They are slowly starting to open their eyes, and they get cuter by the day. We don’t get a whole lot of time with them because she won’t share. The kids take a baby out. The mommy takes the baby back under the bed, and on and on it goes.
Our Bella had her babies last night. The kids are in absolute heaven. They are just the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen! Here’s some of our precious new babies!!
