I used some translucent embossing powder and then went over it with a little Distress ink.

They are both so incredibly talented as well as wonderful people.
Altenew~SohcahtoaWhen I saw the new stamp designs, I about fell off my chair! They are really outstanding, really, really right up my alley! This first card uses the new Sohcahtoa stamp set. This set satisfies my triangle/geometric lovin’ heart! So many different sizes and styles along with some awesome sentiments.
Altenew~Sketchy Cities AmericaThis next card features the Sketchy Citites America stamp set. Is this skyline image gorgeous, or what? I love it so, so much!
Altenew~Sketchy Cities AmericaI just loosely painted some watercolor scribbles and then stamped the skyline over top. Then I stamped a sentiment from the Lace Up stamp set.
Altenew~Super ScriptThis last card features the Super Script and the Magnolias for Her stamp set. I masked off the sentiment so that the flower would appear behind it and then colored it with Copics.

Mama Elephant~April Challenge

08k7Today I’m joining Mama Elephant for their April challenge. This month we have a beautiful inspiration photo.
Mama ElephantI used several different stamp sets to create a cute little birthday shaker card. I had a million different sets all strung out everywhere to see what I could use for this and that. The owl is from the Just Hatched set. The party hat is from the Honey Bunny set. The balloon is from the Pandamonium set, and the sentiment is from Make a Wish…whew…oh, and I used the Love Quotes die to create the shaker window.
Mama ElephantI also added a few stitches below the owl with some aqua floss. Shakers are such a big hit around here. The kids just love ‘em!
Here’s the details for the challenge:
1. You must use a Mama Elephant stamp
2. Challenge duration 4/4/2014 – 4/30/2014
3. No limit to how many entries, in other words, go buck wild!
4. Link up using the Inlinkz tool on the Mama Elephant blog

A Blog Named Hero is 2!

white-frameToday I have the honor of joining A Blog Named Hero as they celebrate their 2nd birthday with a fabulous hop. If you’re following the hop, then you should have arrived here from the lovely Tanja Kewel-Neef’s blog.
Hero Arts cut fileSince we are celebrating a 2nd birthday, I thought I’d make two cards. These feature some of the fabulous Hero Arts cut files found in the Silhouette store. The card above is one single cut file called Happy Birthday Flat Card. I used it on some Hero Arts pool layering paper….could not have been simpler and more lovely. The background on the below card is a cut file called Uneven Stripe Background and the leaves were cut out with the Birds on Branch cut file. I blended in some Picked Raspberry on the card base, and the sentiment is from the Type stamp set.
Hero Arts cut fileGo check out A Blog Named Hero to see the entire blop hop list and while you’re there, wish them a wonderful 2nd birthday. Leave me a comment for your chance to win a prize package from either Hero Arts or Simon Says Stamp…Woot! Thank so much for hopping by! You’re next stop on the hop is the fabulous Cherion Brandon.

SSS~Full Card Hourglass die

Hi there! Today I’ve got a couple of cards made featuring the Full Card Hourglass die by Simon Says Stamp.
SSS~Full Card Hourglass dieI die cut several pieces of cardstock with the Hourglass die and pieced them together to create this geometric background. I loved these neutral colors that I found in an older DCWV matstck pack called Linen Closet and thought it was a perfect fit for a masculine card. The sentiment is from the Dad Grandpa Uncle dies by Simon Says Stamp as well.
SSS~Full Card Hourglass dieAnd here’s a more colorful take using the same Hourglass die.
SSS~Full Card Hourglass dieDoesn’t this look like an arial view of the beach, looking down on the colorful umbrellas? Take me there, oh please, oh please! The fun sentiment is from the Birthday Balloons stamp set.
SSS~Full Card Hourglass dieI feel like I’ve only touched the surface on the amount of ways that this Hourglass die can be used. The possibilities are endless for sure. Thanks so much for stopping by!
