SSS~Super Duo & Getting to Know Me Hop

MamaElephant-01-600x141Hi there! Today I have a couple of fun things to share with you. First I wanted to talk about the awesome collaboration between Simon Says Stamp and Mama Elephant for STAMPtember®. They’ve come up with the cutest little Super Duo stamp set with coordinating dies. Here’s a card I created with this irresistible set.
SSS~Super DuoCan you handle the cuteness? I love it to pieces. You can check out the Simon Says Stamp blog to read more about this Limited Edition set. It’s only available for the month of STAMPtember®.
SSS~Super DuoGetting to Know Me Hop
Last week, the lovely Laura Sterckx tagged me in her post for the Getting to Know Me hop. So, today is my turn to answer the questions and pass on the love:)

What creative projects are you currently working on?
Here is what my table looks like today. I have a stack of STAMPtember® goodies. I have the Simon Says Stamp October card kit to work with, and on the far right is the September release for Papertrey Ink. So much goodness and a lot of work ahead of me, but I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way.

IMG_2207What inspires your designs?
Usually, the products themselves inspire me…it’s true. I take out the stamp set. I stare at it, and it eventually talks to me. That’s how insane I am, lol. I seem to get the best and most creative ideas by just looking at the set, walking away and letting the ideas come. If I’m really stumped, I go where everyone else goes…Pinterest.

What method / process (if applicable) do you apply to each of your creative projects, and how long does each project take to complete?
I don’t have a method to my madness. Harnessing creativity is like holding sand in your hands. Wow, that made me sound so smart. Each card is different. Some are super quick & easy. Some are hard, frustrating, discouraging and hopefully worth it in the end.

If you had to describe your ‘signature’ style, what would it be?
Clean, white, color? That doesn’t even make sense.

What three crafting tools/products can you not live without?
I could NEVER, EVER, EVER  make a card without my Teflon bone folder, my stamp cleaner & my Mini Score Board.

Ok, so now for the good part. I get to tag two paper crafters who inspire me.
First up is Debby Hughes, but I like to call her Miss Debby Doodle and she’s ok with that:) She can do no wrong, this gal. Did I mention that I’ve met her. She is much taller than you would expect, not that that matters, but it’s true. She has a heart of gold, impeccable craftsmanship and I just wish my brain could think like hers. One thing that comes to mind when I think of her work is “mood”. Her cards and her photography have a unique, airy and pleasing mood that I think everyone desires. She was also tagged for this hop by Jennifer McGuire, which is no surprise, so I told Debby that she was in fact a bonafide inspirer to the masses. Did I mention that I just love her?

The second crafter that I’d like to tag is one of my all-time favorites, ever…Pamela Ho. I know this might sound dramatic, but I am dramatic. I usually get nervous when I look at her blog. She’s that good. Her precision, creativity and attention to detail just slays me time after time. I’ve been lucky enough to receive a few cards from her over the years, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that my entire family is in complete amazement of her handwriting. It is so tiny, so perfect and just incredible. Both Pamela & Debby make me strive to improve without saying a word. I respect them, the way they handle themselves with class and with such professionalism. I feel so lucky to have friends that I admire so very much.

SSS~Trick or Treat

Hi there! Today I’m just playing with the new Trick or Treat stamp set & coordinating dies from the new STAMPtember® release with Simon Says Stamp.SSS~Trick or TreatObviously I had to color the cat like my cat. I just know that as soon as my kids see this, they are going to try and dress up Bella like the cat on this card. Good thing we don’t have a dog or the poor thing would probably suffocate from the mummy costume. These images just make me laugh.
SSS~Trick or TreatNot sure if you remember last year, I made a T-shirt for my daughter for Halloween using a Halloween cat image. These images are begging me to do the same, don’t  you think? So fun! That’s all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Mama Elephant~Rewind

Hi there! Today I’m sharing a project on the Mama Elephant blog featuring the new Rewind stamp set.
Mama Elephant~Rewind
This set brings back a lot of fun memories of the good ol’ days, crankin’ my cassettes in the car. I still have my old Joan Jett & the Blackhearts tape as well as my old favorite, wait for it, don’t split your pants over this one, but I used to love my Vanilla Ice tape…true story. I’m not one to toot my own horn or anything, but I was, at one time, voted best dancer in my high school. I owe it all to Ice, Ice Baby. I kid you not.
I found this colorful inspiration photo above and knew I wanted to do something similar.
I used some post-it notes to mask the cassette images to stamp them overlapping. Then after coloring them with Copics, I trimmed off the right side and popped it up on a neutral gray card base. I love how you can use the title on the cassettes as a place for your sentiment.
Mama Elephant~Rewind
That’s all for now. Thanks so much for stopping by! Rock on, girlfriends:)

STAMPtember® blog hop

Stamptember-Blog-Hop-600x150Today I am very excited to be joining Simon Says Stamp for their STAMPtember® blog hop! September has always been my favorite month of the year, but now that we have a “STAMPtember®“, I love it even more. If you are following the hop, then you should have arrived here from the lovely Nichol Magouirk’s blog. I have a couple of project to share today featuring the new Thanksgiving Table stamp set.
SSS~Thanksgiving Table Stamp SetThis card is super simple, with a bit of rock n’ roll technique on the wheat grass. I used one of the new inks called Goldenlocks on the wheat before rolling it in some Sunshine ink.
SSS~Thanksgiving Table Stamp SetThis next card features the new Leaf Background stamp. I embossed it in clear and then I blended some Olive and Beanstalk into it.
SSS~Thanksgiving Table Stamp Set & Thanksgiving Feast Dies & Leaf Background StampI used the Thanksgiving Table stamp set as well as the coordinating dies for the pumpkins.
SSS~Thanksgiving Table Stamp Set & Thanksgiving Feast Dies & Leaf Background StampSo, did you see the six new yummy ink colors??? Oh happy day:) Here they are in all their glory:
1_308116_ZMThat brings the entire ink collection up to 32…wow! At this point, I realized that I needed some ink organization to wrap my brain around the colors and how they related to one another. Here’s a little video to show you what I came up with.

So, here’s my ink chart, almost filled up. Don’t ask me why I have no idea why Doll Pink and Leaf Green are not stamped in there. I’m assuming that the doorbell rang or the pasta over-boiled and I completely got distracted, but then right on ahead and took the photo anyways. Mom-nesia strikes again:)
SSS Ink ChartHere’s a blank chart, if you feel so inclined to print it out and fill it in with your own inks. It’s not the best looking chart, but it does the job for a quick ink reference.
SSS Ink ChartSimon Says Stamp is giving away a prize pack of a selection of items from our STAMPtember® giveaway stash at each stop on the hop! That’s 19 chances to win!!

SSS~Hey Teacher treat boxes

Hi there! Today I wanted to share with you some cute little teacher treat boxes that I made using my Envelope Punch Board and the Hey Teacher stamp set by Simon Says Stamp.SSS~Hey Teacher treat boxesHow cute are these little chocolate boxes? The are made to fit three Ghirardelli chocolates like a glove. I found this blog named The Crafty Owl with the coolest Box Buster converter. All you have to do is enter the measurements of whatever you want to box, and it will give you the size of paper you need as well as the score & punch measurements to use with your punch board. It’s fantastic!
SSS~Hey Teacher treat boxesThe other day I made a similar box to hold a few of my handmade cards to give as a gift. I saw this on Jennifer McGuire’s blog. This little chocolate box is basically just a scaled down version of Jennifer’s box. Jennifer used to be an engineer,so it was probably a piece of cake for her to find the measurements for her card box…Me on the other hand? Are you kidding? ha ha….I needed the Box Buster, baby:) Here’s a little video to show you how I made it.

Just want to give you the information again for these treat boxes:
Paper size: 5 1/2″—Score & punch at: 1 7/8 and 2 7/8″
Wrap size: 2 3/4 x 6 1/2″—Score at: 1, 1 3/4, 3 7/8, 4 5/8″

So, that’s all for today…the last day of August…wow, that month went by like a flash, eh? Hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks for stopping by!

I just love this idea. I’m all about fun balloon cards and these dies will be well used, especially that smiley face! How much happier can you possibly get?
