PTI-Make It Monday

Hello! Just popping in to share a Make It Monday video that I have over on the Papertrey Ink blog. I’m sharing a couple of ways to add color to your cover plates.PTI-Peony Cover PlateFor my first project I added color to the Peony Cover Plate using Copic Markers with some subtle ink blending on the card base.
PTI-Peony Cover PlateOn my next card I used one of the Zig Clean Color Markers in Carmine Red to add color to the In the Woods Cover Plate.
PTI-In the Woods Cover PlateI also added some subtle aqua ink blending to the card base. I was going with a “under the sea” approach?? Is that a stretch? Maybe so. If not that then maybe a Japanese Cherry Blossom.
PTI-In the Woods Cover PlateHere’s a video to show you how I made these two projects.
If you feel inspired to color one of your cover plates, feel free to join & link up your project over on the Papertrey Ink blog for your chance to win $25 to spend at PTI. I’ll be checking the entries, so I’d love to see what you come up with! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Paper Smooches-Flowers 2 diesI’ve used the new Flowers 2 Dies on my project and also one of the leafy dies from the new Foliage 1 dies. I had to cut four foliage die cuts and two of them were flipped over, showing the not-so-smooth side of the die cut so that I could get the mirror image and create a circular frame for my banner sentiment. Times like these call for a new, perfectly smooth cutting plate, which I didn’t have. I think next time I’m gonna buy extra cutting plates just to keep a couple nice, smooth ones for situations like these.Paper Smooches- Borders 1 DiesI created a custom curvy banner using one of the Borders 1 dies along with a sentiment from the new Best Buds stamp set.

Mama Elephant-Chance of Rain

Hello! I have another Mama Elephant project to share with you using the new Chance of Rain stamp set. This is such an adorable set. I love anything that includes an umbrella.Mama Elephant-Rain or ShineI stamped the two little girls holding the umbrella together, colored them with Copics and then trimmed it all out using my scissors & craft knife. Then I added some ink blending behind using Fresh Mint and stamped the raindrops using the same ink color.

Mama Elephant-Charmed

Hi there! Joining Mama Elephant again as we highlight the new Charmed stamp set with coordinating dies.Mama Elephant-CharmedI die cut a circle window using one of my nesting circle dies into some pattern paper that I have from an old Studio Calico card kit. Then I used the adorable owl, wreath & sentiment banner from Charmed along with the coordinating dies. I colored the images with Copics and popped everything up with foam tape. How cute is this sweet little owl?

Mama Elephant~Sunday Sentiments

Hi there! I’m back with Mama Elephant highlighting the new Sunday Sentiments stamp set.Mama Elephant~Sunday SentimentsI stamped and masked off the bottom of the “hello friend” sentiment. Then I stamped and masked one of the little girls from In My heart. While everything was masked, I blended in Ocean & Lemongrass ink. Then I removed the masks, colored in the girl with Copics and then danced a gig because this looked so cool. I get abnormally excited over one-layer wonders.

Mama Elephant-Sunday Stroll

Hello! I’m back with Mama Elephant as we highlight the new Sunday Stroll stamp set.Mama Elephant-Sunday StrollI stamped & masked each image as I went so that it would look like the animals were in front of one another giving perspective. When they were all masked, I added the hill by using my multiliner pen and a piece of cardstock that was die cut using one of the Landscape trio dies as a guide and then added some ink blending for the sky & grass. After removing the masks, I colored everything with Copics. Finally I added a sentiment from the Sunday Sentiments.
Mama Elephant-Sunday StrollThis is why I love Mama Elephant. The images always make me smile, especially this little girl trying to take two ducks, a dog & a cat for a walk. First of all, have you ever tried to take a cat for a walk? Unless you a the cat whisperer, I don’t think it’s gonna fly, lol. Check out the Mama Elephant blog to see more inspiration using this fun new set. Thanks so much for stopping by!
