Paper Smooches projects & Mask-erade winner

Hello there! Just sharing a few Paper Smooches projects today. This first card features the new Frame 4 die that will be available on June 1st. I also used the Love word die and die cut it onto some double-sided foam and coated it with Microfine Antique Silver glitter.Paper Smooches-Frame 4 die, Love Word Die, Spiritual SamplerThis next card features the File Folder die. For the sentiment, I stitched on the Thanks word die.
Paper Smooches-File Folder, Thanks word dieNext up is the cutie patootie My Peeps stamps & coordinating dies. I did a little partial die cutting to keep the penguin intact with the white panel and then added a party banner, party hat & balloon from Luminous Spring and sentiment from Word Salad.
Paper Smooches-My Peeps stamps & dies, Luminous Spring, Word SaladAnd this last card uses the Happy Birthday word die. First I created the rainbow striped background using post-it tape for masking and ink blending. Then I die cut the Happy Birthday word die cut right into the rainbow stripes and layered it up to give it thickness and pop out from the card.
Paper Smooches-Happy Birthday word dieI will be showing some fun ways to used this awesome masking technique in the upcoming Mask-erade class, starting tomorrow….woot! Speaking of which, I have three winners to announce from my Mask-erade class giveaway
Congrats to…beaumama, marloumac & beej. I will be emailing you!

My-Scrap.Ru Blog Feature

Hello! Today I have the honor of being a guest on the Russian papercrafting blog My-Scrap.Ru.
SSS-Lovely SpringI’m also sharing this card as part of a challenge on their blog. The challenge is to use ink smooshing in some way. You all know how much I love ink smooshing. I used the Lovely Spring stamp set with coordinating Lovely Day dies by Simon Says Stamp. I only used two Distress ink colors for my smooshing, Salty Ocean & Picked Raspberry, but the combination they make when smooshed is just heavenly.
SSS-Lovely SpringYou can see the full interview and challenge over on the My-Scrap.Ru blog. Feel free to play along! I’d love to see what you smoosh:) Thanks so much for stopping by!

Mama Elephant-Bella Letters

Hi there! I’m back with Mama Elephant highlighting the new Bella Letters stamp set. I love alphabet sets. I think they are so fun for personalizing cards as well as creating your own custom sentiment.Mama Elephant-Bella LettersSo here’s the thing. In the beginning it looked to me like this cute little puppy was tired and exhausted so I added a funny sentiment to go with him. Then I showed it to my hubby, and he was like, “Um, I hate to break it to ya, hot stuff, but he’s not tired. He’s ready to play.” So there you have it. Clearly I understand bear & monkey nonverbal communication better than puppies. I don’t know how I missed that one…ha ha. Maybe I was just looking for a reason to put this saying on a card. I just relate to it so much, don’t you?
Mama Elephant-Bella LettersI snapped a quick pic to show you my high-falutin’ way of keeping my letters straight. I used some post-it tape. Check out the Mama Elephant blog to see more fun projects using the new Bella Letters stamp set. Thanks for looking!

Mama Elephant-Small Talk

Hello there! I’m back with Mama Elephant highlighting the new Small Talk stamp set.Mama Elephant-Small TalkFor my first card I combined the Woodland Gifts critters with the cute Small Talk set. That bear…he cracks me up every time with his stone face. He’s actually a “softy” but you wouldn’t know it just by lookin’ at him:) I masked the critters so the bunny could perch on the mushroom and I added a hilly ground with my multiliner pen and then masked it as well so I could add some subtle background ink blending. I have no good reason for adding the heart garland at the top. Not sure what compelled me to do that other than sneaking in a rainbow, lol.
Mama Elephant-Small TalkMy next card combines Photo Bomb with Small Talk.
Mama Elephant-Small TalkOk, I might have gotten a little bit carried away with the Small Talk word bubbles here, but this card would really make somebody smile, don’t you think? I don’t normally like to overkill on things, especially word bubbles, hearts, enamel dots, sequins, etc. I usually go with a less is more approach. Clearly I threw that out the window on this one, but oh well, it’s ok once in a while to just go with what makes you smile, even if it is overkill, right? That’s my story anyways.

Mama Elephant-Playful Pups

Hi there! Today I’m joining Mama Elephant as we begin highlighting the new May release sets. This card features the new Playful Pups stamp set.Mama Elephant-Playful PupsHow adorable are these pups? I couldn’t decide with puppy to use, so I just used almost all of them. I grouped them together using post-it notes as masks. While the masks were still on I used my mini ink blender to add subtle shading to the ground & sky with Rainwater & Mojito pigment inks and one of the Borderline trio dies to create the mask for the arch. Then I colored the pups with Copics. Oh my gosh, their expressions and personalities just crack me up!Mama Elephant-Playful PupsCheck out the Mama Elephant blog to see what the rest of the team has created with this adorable new Playful Pups set.

Mama Elephant-May Stampede

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Release Design Team blog hop!
Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store!

I used the new Small Talk & Woodland Gifts stamp sets on my card. How cute are these woodland critters that Elena designed? That bear just cracks me up with his stone face expression. I put the “yay” sentiment from Small Talk above him. It’s almost sarcastic the way he’s saying, “Yay” and his face is like, “Are you done, yet?” ha ha ha….there’s always a story in my head about what these critters are thinking.
Mama Elephant-Small TalkI used a bunch of masking to group the animals & balloons and then colored them in with Copics. I also used my ink blenders to add subtle color to the sky & grass and drew the ground with a Multiliner pen.
