Hello! Today I have the honor of being a guest on the Russian papercrafting blog My-Scrap.Ru.
I’m also sharing this card as part of a challenge on their blog. The challenge is to use ink smooshing in some way. You all know how much I love ink smooshing. I used the Lovely Spring stamp set with coordinating Lovely Day dies by Simon Says Stamp. I only used two Distress ink colors for my smooshing, Salty Ocean & Picked Raspberry, but the combination they make when smooshed is just heavenly.
You can see the full interview and challenge over on the My-Scrap.Ru blog. Feel free to play along! I’d love to see what you smoosh:) Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hi there! I’m back with Mama Elephant highlighting the new Bella Letters stamp set. I love alphabet sets. I think they are so fun for personalizing cards as well as creating your own custom sentiment. So here’s the thing. In the beginning it looked to me like this cute little puppy was tired and exhausted so I added a funny sentiment to go with him. Then I showed it to my hubby, and he was like, “Um, I hate to break it to ya, hot stuff, but he’s not tired. He’s ready to play.” So there you have it. Clearly I understand bear & monkey nonverbal communication better than puppies. I don’t know how I missed that one…ha ha. Maybe I was just looking for a reason to put this saying on a card. I just relate to it so much, don’t you?
I snapped a quick pic to show you my high-falutin’ way of keeping my letters straight. I used some post-it tape. Check out the Mama Elephant blog to see more fun projects using the new Bella Letters stamp set. Thanks for looking!
Hello there! I’m back with Mama Elephant highlighting the new Small Talk stamp set.For my first card I combined the Woodland Gifts critters with the cute Small Talk set. That bear…he cracks me up every time with his stone face. He’s actually a “softy” but you wouldn’t know it just by lookin’ at him:) I masked the critters so the bunny could perch on the mushroom and I added a hilly ground with my multiliner pen and then masked it as well so I could add some subtle background ink blending. I have no good reason for adding the heart garland at the top. Not sure what compelled me to do that other than sneaking in a rainbow, lol.
My next card combines Photo Bomb with Small Talk.
Ok, I might have gotten a little bit carried away with the Small Talk word bubbles here, but this card would really make somebody smile, don’t you think? I don’t normally like to overkill on things, especially word bubbles, hearts, enamel dots, sequins, etc. I usually go with a less is more approach. Clearly I threw that out the window on this one, but oh well, it’s ok once in a while to just go with what makes you smile, even if it is overkill, right? That’s my story anyways.

Hi there! Today I’m joining Mama Elephant as we begin highlighting the new May release sets. This card features the new Playful Pups stamp set.How adorable are these pups? I couldn’t decide with puppy to use, so I just used almost all of them. I grouped them together using post-it notes as masks. While the masks were still on I used my mini ink blender to add subtle shading to the ground & sky with Rainwater & Mojito pigment inks and one of the Borderline trio dies to create the mask for the arch. Then I colored the pups with Copics. Oh my gosh, their expressions and personalities just crack me up!Check out the Mama Elephant blog to see what the rest of the team has created with this adorable new Playful Pups set.
