SSS~Super Duo & Getting to Know Me Hop

MamaElephant-01-600x141Hi there! Today I have a couple of fun things to share with you. First I wanted to talk about the awesome collaboration between Simon Says Stamp and Mama Elephant for STAMPtember®. They’ve come up with the cutest little Super Duo stamp set with coordinating dies. Here’s a card I created with this irresistible set.
SSS~Super DuoCan you handle the cuteness? I love it to pieces. You can check out the Simon Says Stamp blog to read more about this Limited Edition set. It’s only available for the month of STAMPtember®.
SSS~Super DuoGetting to Know Me Hop
Last week, the lovely Laura Sterckx tagged me in her post for the Getting to Know Me hop. So, today is my turn to answer the questions and pass on the love:)

What creative projects are you currently working on?
Here is what my table looks like today. I have a stack of STAMPtember® goodies. I have the Simon Says Stamp October card kit to work with, and on the far right is the September release for Papertrey Ink. So much goodness and a lot of work ahead of me, but I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way.

IMG_2207What inspires your designs?
Usually, the products themselves inspire me…it’s true. I take out the stamp set. I stare at it, and it eventually talks to me. That’s how insane I am, lol. I seem to get the best and most creative ideas by just looking at the set, walking away and letting the ideas come. If I’m really stumped, I go where everyone else goes…Pinterest.

What method / process (if applicable) do you apply to each of your creative projects, and how long does each project take to complete?
I don’t have a method to my madness. Harnessing creativity is like holding sand in your hands. Wow, that made me sound so smart. Each card is different. Some are super quick & easy. Some are hard, frustrating, discouraging and hopefully worth it in the end.

If you had to describe your ‘signature’ style, what would it be?
Clean, white, color? That doesn’t even make sense.

What three crafting tools/products can you not live without?
I could NEVER, EVER, EVER  make a card without my Teflon bone folder, my stamp cleaner & my Mini Score Board.

Ok, so now for the good part. I get to tag two paper crafters who inspire me.
First up is Debby Hughes, but I like to call her Miss Debby Doodle and she’s ok with that:) She can do no wrong, this gal. Did I mention that I’ve met her. She is much taller than you would expect, not that that matters, but it’s true. She has a heart of gold, impeccable craftsmanship and I just wish my brain could think like hers. One thing that comes to mind when I think of her work is “mood”. Her cards and her photography have a unique, airy and pleasing mood that I think everyone desires. She was also tagged for this hop by Jennifer McGuire, which is no surprise, so I told Debby that she was in fact a bonafide inspirer to the masses. Did I mention that I just love her?

The second crafter that I’d like to tag is one of my all-time favorites, ever…Pamela Ho. I know this might sound dramatic, but I am dramatic. I usually get nervous when I look at her blog. She’s that good. Her precision, creativity and attention to detail just slays me time after time. I’ve been lucky enough to receive a few cards from her over the years, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that my entire family is in complete amazement of her handwriting. It is so tiny, so perfect and just incredible. Both Pamela & Debby make me strive to improve without saying a word. I respect them, the way they handle themselves with class and with such professionalism. I feel so lucky to have friends that I admire so very much.

I’ve seen a commercial where a small boy is offered his dad’s car keys and he’s excited at first, then imagines all the responsibilities and difficulties of his dad’s world. I thought of that when I saw your boxes of product that you need to work through. At first, ‘how exciting’….. then reality of how daunting that would be!
