Doublestick Heaven

CASEplorations-January guest designer

Hi there! I’m honored to join CASEplorations for their January challenge. I’ve created two cards inspired by the one above, which is from this older post & uses a technique that I just love, coloring embossing paste.I thought it would be fun to use the colored embossing paste to color the flowers & leaves on the Bold Florals stencil by STAMPlorations.
You can see what a hot mess this looks like above, but when you smooth it all out is comes out pretty nifty! I used the same distress ink colors from my original card: Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn and I also broke out the Twisted Citron because it’s my favorite color on earth.I tried something new, which turned out fantastic, to get a nice, dimensional word die cut. I adhered black cardstock to a piece of white fun foam and then ran it through my big shot with the Painted Hugs die and voala! it worked like a charm.
This next card uses the same colors but this time on the Bubbles stencil. You can see how I added the embossing paste. This way is much easier than what I tried on the first card, but both are super fun to do. Doesn’t that paste just look like frosting? Don’t lick it!
I kept the sentiment very simple as in the inspiration card with black white, loosey goosey thread and some clear droplets.
The sentiment is from Best Hugs and coordinates perfectly with the Painted Hugs die.Check out the CASEplorations blog and play along for your chance to win some prizes!!! Thanks so much for stopping by!
