Mama Elephant-Ella & Friends

Hi there! Today I’m joining Mama Elephant as we highlight the new Ella & Friends stamp set with coordinating dies.Mama Elephant-Ella & Friends
I used the “smooshing” technique that Betsy Veldman taught in her latest Make It Monday video with Distress inks. Absolutely brilliant results using an acetate sheet. How adorable are these Mama Elephant images? I mean seriously, it doesn’t get any cuter than a bunny & elephant blowing bubbles. I colored them with Copics, popped them up with foam tape and that’s the end of that story.

PTI-NotedNext up is a card that uses three new stamp sets. I used the Enclosed: Graduate dies & stamp set for the focal image with some ombre ink blending behind in Aqua Mist & Tropical Teal. I stamped  a sentiment from Keep It Simple: Graduation down the right side of the card. along with a thin strip of that delicious Luxe Gold paper.

Introducing Make It Market Mini Kit: Clipsters

Hello there! Today I’m joining Papertrey Ink as we showcasing the new Make It Market Mini Kit: Clipsters.PTI-Make It Market Mini Kit: ClipstersI kept this first card pretty clean and simple with lots of fun repeated stamping using a couple of the arrow type images.
PTI-Make It Market Mini Kit: ClipstersI wanted to show you how I keep my images aligned. I draw a line using a ruler. Pretty high tech, eh? For the sentiment I did some rock n’ roll inking with Aqua Mist & Tropical Teal.
PTI-Make It Market Mini Kit: ClipstersI fell in love with the black & white striped pattern paper that comes in the kit, but you have to use it sparingly or else you’ll get dizzy. It’s a perfect little accent on the side of my focal panel.
PTI-Make It Market Mini Kit: ClipstersI also fell in love with the coordinating die for the main sentiment in the stamp set. Isn’t that so cool! Love this font! I did the same rock n’ roll inking for the sentiment using Aqua Mist & Tropical Teal.
PTI-Make It Market Mini Kit: ClipstersTo frame the sentiment and really make it the focal I die cut a circle onto a piece of scrap paper and used it as a mask to create an orangey ombre background. I also masked off a small strip on the bottom of the card and blended in Aqua Mist & Tropical Teal.
PTI-Make It Market Mini Kit: ClipstersI die cut the sentiment about four times and stacked it up for some thickness and awesomeness…oh yeah!

Petite Places: Sweet Shoppe

Hello! I’m back again with Papertrey Ink for our second group post featuring the new Petite Places: Sweet Shoppe and its coordinating products designed by Betsy Veldman.PTI-Petite Places: Sweet ShoppeHow cute are these little candy shops? I couldn’t stop. I wanted to try every color combination under the sun! I finally decided on the yellow one for my dome topper. I added a couple of trees using the petite places: pop-up trees dies. I also added a few silver shimmer seed beads for a little shakey-shake action.
PTI-Petite Places: Sweet ShoppeJust for the record, nothing against peppermints, but I wouldn’t give a jar of peppermints to someone, lol. It’s just the cutest thing I had on hand. If I had time, I would love to fill a jar with big colorful gumballs. I think that would look so cute keeping with the sweet shoppe theme, don’t you? I also added a little tag using the Sweet Shoppe Sentiments stamp set.
PTI-Petite Places: Sweet ShoppeNext, I used the Sweet Shoppe products to create a card. I used some of the dies from the Tinsel & Tags collection for the scalloped circle, sentiment banner & bow.
PTI-Petite Places: Sweet ShoppeI used the new Sentiment Splits: Curve Horizontal die to create my hills. You know what I love the most about this whole thing? That itty bitty bike. So stinkin’ cute!

Introducing Chicken Scratch

Hi there! I’m back with Papertrey Ink for our first group post featuring the new Chicken Scratch products designed by Erin Lincoln. I have to admit. I had never heard of chicken scratch embroidery before, but boy oh boy have my eyes been opened to this amazing craft. Some of the designs are incredibly intricate and would take such skill and patience to create. The idea of translating this into card making is pure genius.PTI-Chicken ScratchI used the Cover Plate: Chicken Scratch die on my front panel and then one of the tiny little squares from the Chicken Scratch stamp set to create this fun pattern. Oh the endless possibilities here for patterns and colors. I layered up the new Noted “hello” die for my sentiment and adhered it over some loose silver thread along with a few glossy accent dots.
PTI-Chicken ScratchI tried to dig a little deeper into the stitching on this next card. I’m not sure this even qualifies as chicken scratch stitching, more like red-neck chicken scratch, lol. I used the Cover Plate: Chicken Scratch die again to form my grid of holes and then stamped a few gingham rows using the Chicken Scratch stamp set in Hibiscus Burst & Orange Zest.
PTI-Chicken ScratchI embossed a sentiment in white from the Friendly Flowers stamp set as well as stamping a subtle gingham pattern on the Aqua Mist panel using the Background Basics: Super Gingham stamp set and Versamark ink.
PTI-Chicken ScratchI’m convinced that these chicken scratch crafters are true engineers & artists. Talk about patience. This took a few tries to get a pattern that I liked with colors that went well together. I added a few extra holes with my retractable needle tool to give me more options to fan out aqua floss and the pink in the center.
