Virginia’s View Challenge-All Things Embossed

all things embossedHello there! Today I have the great pleasure of joining my dear friend, Virginia, for her 13th challenge. Her challenge is celebrating it’s first birthday this month! Congratulations, Virginia!!Winnie & Walter-Rectangled & TriangledThe theme this month is embossing, so I did some emboss resist using watercolors. First I embossed the background using a Winnie & Walter stamp set and then added a custom sentiment that I made with my Silhouette. I just typed in the sentiment that I wanted, squeezed the letters closer, welded them together and cut it out. Nothing fancy, I swear.
Winnie & Walter-Rectangled & TriangledThis next card uses the Grid Background stamp set by Simon Says Stamp.
SSS-Grid BackgroundI can’t get over how gorgeous these Gansai watercolors paint.
SSS-Grid BackgroundHere’s a little video to show you how I created these cards.
Head over to Virginia’s challenge blog to see all the amazing entries so far and play along for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. I sure wish I could get the water color effect you do. I am going to try to see if I can get such distinct colors [like you] rather then mud puddles of brown. 🙂 I will be totally CASEing your grid card since I actually have that stamp. TFS — I really enjoy [and learn] from your videos. Fabulous cards – both of them~

  2. You make it easy breezy and beautiful, Laura! Your beautiful Emboss Resist with watercolors is absolutely superb! Thank you so much for guest designing for Virginia’s View Challenge! .xoxo

  3. I love your videos! They are so fun & make me smile – always! I learn so much from you Laura, thank you! I ordered s set of the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors last week, can’t wait for them to come!! Great cards!!!

  4. Light and airy is overrated, I love your bright and vibrant rainbows. The more I see those watercolors, the more I *need* them. Your cards are beautiful, as always.

  5. Such a fresh, cheerful card, Laura! I’m going to try this TODAY. I could watch your videos all day long. Love them so much! ♡

  6. This is just so very lovely! Love the way you did the sentiment…and I just love the watercolor! Absolutely gorgeous!

  7. Why mess with a good thing, right?! Rainbows should be popping out all over the place. Especially this time of year. Loved watching your watercoloring. They are indeed super-vivid. Gorgeous cards, Laura!

  8. Gorgeous cards, Laura! I LOVE the bright rainbow colors with these fun backgrounds! And…Laura Jane is right!!!

  9. I think the bright, vibrant and bold colors are always so eye-catching and breathtaking. Whatever you create is gorgeous so you are doing something very right!

  10. Always love watching and listening to you create, Laura! Love both of these beautiful, rainbow cards! ♥

  11. Good grief….IT (your creativity) keeps on going and going and going….like the ever-ready battery. When you started talking about pastels, I thought OK, that sounds good, but then when the rainbow appeared….that’s it! Absolutely and wonderfully cheery and happy! Thanks so much!!!

  12. Laura,
I really like your videos. The cards you made are awesome just like a rainbow you see in the sky :o)

  13. Oh, Laura, these are gorgeous and I was so happy to see you posted a video (they’re by far my favorite to watch)! I love how they turned out 🙂 I often go in without a plan too and it seems as if the projects just take flight and do their own thing. I can’t submit my card to Virginia’s challenge because it’s a week or so old, but it is also an embossed watercolor card. I’d love for you to check it out: http://polkadotrosie.blogspot.com/2015/03/embossed-watercolor-background-ds4j.html
